On the Quality of Living City Ranking 2024 published by Mercer, Amsterdam has jumped into the top 10, now taking the 6th spot (up from 14th in 2023). With this big jump, the Dutch capital shows this year’s steepest increase on the list. 🚀
In their ranking, Mercer compares cities on 39 topics divided over 10 categories. In doing so, it balances topics such as socio-economic climate, labour market, political stability and safety, whilst also taking into account the location preferred by employees. One of the topics Amsterdam scores particularly well on is the quality of its data connectivity. 💻 Other cities score better on availability of housing 🏠 and public transport. 🚉 Even though Amsterdam is lower on the Cost of Living City Ranking 2024 (spot 30, down from 28 in 2023), housing costs specifically remain relatively high.
All in all, Amsterdam has become more interesting for employers and their international employees.🌍 Whenever you are relocating valued talent, let us know and we’re happy to help! 🤝
